After I set up an appointment and told Penny what I wanted, she did her homework and showed me homes that matched my criteria–she didn’t waste time showing me homes that didn’t. Simply put, she listens. She also impressed me because she knew the history of each home’s property, ownership, improvements, taxes etc. When I settled on what I wanted she also explained what she thought I could do to with the home and although I hadn’t thought of renting, she suggested I consider it so that I could finance improvements. I’ve followed her advice for some 13 years now and have never regretted it. If you ask anyone on Shelter Island, they’ll tell you that she’s “the” broker –and I heard this said by another former Shelter Island broker. She doesn’t just want to sell or rent you a home–she wants to make you happy and confident in your choice. I can’t say that about every broker.
